I just picked up a B&H 670/XL at my local thrift store for $3.50 US. It looks brand new, but alas had no instructions. Does anyone have any experience with this or similar cameras? It it SUPER basic- no focus or zoom, etc. I don't even know if it works. I found 4 AAA batteries in the case; took them out and luckily they weren't leaking or anything. It seriously looks like no one has ever put film in it.
Specifically, there is a small blue button on the side of the camera that says "Test". Anyone know what THAT does?
Is there any way I can find out if the camera works BEFORE I buy film for it? IF I replace the batteries, will that be enough to tell me?
Thanks,
Molly

The TEST button is most likely a battery tester. There should be an LED next to it, when you press the button the LED will light up with a brightness relative to the strength of the batteries.
I had a 672/XL once upon a time, I think that yes, all you have to do is replace the batteries, pull the trigger, and if the motor spins you're in good enough shape to go ahead and risk a roll of film in it. There aren't a lot of features and options on these cameras, it's pretty much point & shoot. Good luck!
